Judy, the owner, was wonderful and gave an extraordinary tour of the facility. Feeding the pigs while learning their stories was an experience we won't soon forget.

I had the pleasure of visiting the Pigs Peace Sanctuary during their benefit drive. I read this on the wall of their Education Center: "Pigs grieve. When they lose a loved one, they cry and mourn their loss. The grief may last as long as a year." Hearing the tragic stories of how these pigs arrived at the sanctuary was heart breaking, but seeing how well they are treated makes my heart sing. They're a wonderful organization, I highly recommend you visit their website and consider donating or visiting their vegan retail establishment, Vegan Haven in the U-District.
